Dawson built Valdez's new fire station from the ground up, an 18,800 square foot, two-story facility with six apparatus bays designed to withstand the extreme conditions that define this Prince William Sound community. Four drive-through bays handle the department's largest apparatus, while two additional bays serve smaller vehicles and equipment.
The first floor houses administrative offices, training rooms, and a dayroom for on-duty crews, while the second floor provides firefighter dormitories and support spaces. Every element was designed for rapid response and round-the-clock readiness in a city that sees some of Alaska's heaviest snowfall and most demanding emergency conditions.
The completed station gives the community a modern, purpose-built emergency services facility designed to perform for decades. The six-bay configuration gives the fire department flexibility to house current and future apparatus, while the dormitory and support spaces keep crews ready around the clock. For a town at the end of the road on Prince William Sound, this building is a lifeline, and Dawson built it to last.
From emergency repairs to ground-up builds, Dawson teams deliver across Southeast Alaska and Northwest Washington.
