01Estimating Manager+

Estimating Managers own the work from first takeoff to final closeout. You read the documents, ask the hard questions early, and build the bid that wins the job without sinking the project. From there you set the master CPM schedule, sequence subcontractors, and stress-test the plan against weather windows, barge cycles, and material lead times. Once the work is underway you hold the relationship with the owner and architect, lead the field team, and drive the budget when something goes sideways at 7am on a Tuesday. It runs across hospitals, schools, civic buildings, multifamily housing, and marine and aviation infrastructure in Southeast Alaska and Northwest Washington. Estimator to Estimating Manager to Director is the path.

02Project Engineering+

Project Engineers manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, subcontractor coordination, and the document control that keeps a job clean. You sit between the field and the office and learn how a building actually goes together. PE is the on-ramp to PM at Dawson. Most of our current PMs started here.

03Accounting and finance+

Project Administrators, accountants, and finance staff run job cost, billing, payroll, AP and AR, and the financial reporting that keeps Dawson and its 60+ active projects audited and current. You work directly with PMs across both regions and ensure every job stays on the right side of its budget and contract.

04Safety+

Safety at Dawson is owned by everyone, but the Safety team sets the standard. You run jobsite audits, lead safety stand-downs, manage OSHA compliance, investigate incidents, and partner with field leadership on training. Dawson's incident rate sits well below the industry average. Safety staff are the reason.

05Human resources+

HR at Dawson runs hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, compensation, training, and the policy work that supports two regional hubs and remote project sites across Southeast Alaska and Northwest Washington. Our HR team owns the employee experience from offer letter to retirement.

06Information technology+

IT supports the laptops, mobile devices, jobsite WiFi, and the Viewpoint and Procore platforms that let PMs run jobs from anywhere from downtown Bellingham to a remote Alaska airstrip. Construction tech is changing fast and Dawson IT is at the front of it.
