Dawson constructed this 21,078 square foot behavioral health crisis stabilization center for Skagit County in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. The single-story facility provides 16 crisis stabilization beds, 16 co-occurring treatment beds, and 16 acute detox beds, with an additional 2,240 square feet of attic space dedicated to mechanical systems.
As a voluntary residential treatment facility on an existing campus, the project required careful integration with surrounding buildings and services. Dawson's team delivered a facility that meets the specialized security, privacy, and comfort requirements of behavioral health care, a building type that demands careful design and precise execution to serve vulnerable populations with dignity.
The Skagit County Crisis Stabilization Center opened as a purpose-built resource for people in behavioral health crisis, a facility where the architecture itself supports treatment and recovery. The 48-bed capacity across three distinct programs gives Skagit County a comprehensive response to behavioral health emergencies that previously overwhelmed existing resources. For a building type where getting the details wrong can compromise both safety and treatment outcomes, Dawson delivered a facility that serves its residents with the dignity they deserve.
From emergency repairs to ground-up builds, Dawson teams deliver across Southeast Alaska and Northwest Washington.
