Dawson Construction completed the new Blaine Harbor Web House No. 1 Replacement for the Port of Bellingham, delivering a 20,600 square foot boat and marine storage building designed to serve the thriving commercial and recreational fishing community in Blaine, Washington. The facility provides both interior and exterior storage capacity for boats and marine equipment at Blaine Harbor, one of the busiest small craft harbors in Whatcom County.
The scope extended well beyond the building itself, including major site improvements that upgraded the harbor's infrastructure and public access. Dawson constructed a waterfront walking trail connecting the facility to the surrounding harbor area, installed a fenced storage yard for secure outdoor equipment storage, and built a stormwater management system to protect the sensitive marine environment. Additional infrastructure work included watermain improvements, an irrigation system, professional landscaping, and new pavement throughout the project site.
Designed by RMC Architects, PLLC, the building features a pre-engineered metal structure with covered exterior storage bays supported by timber columns, combining durability with an aesthetic that complements the maritime character of the Blaine Harbor waterfront. Blaine Harbor got more than a replacement storage building. The Web House provides the boat and marine equipment storage the harbor's fishing fleet depends on, the walking trail connects the facility to the broader harbor area for public enjoyment, and the stormwater system protects the marine environment that makes the harbor viable in the first place.
From emergency repairs to ground-up builds, Dawson teams deliver across Southeast Alaska and Northwest Washington.
