Dawson built the single-story, 7,800 square foot Squalicum Creek Medical Center in Bellingham for PSB Properties, housing an ambulatory surgery facility, outpatient clinic, and examination rooms. The site sits in an environmentally sensitive area bordered on three sides by wetlands and immediately adjacent to a salmon stream, requiring careful sequencing, stormwater management, erosion control, and significant mitigation work to protect the habitat throughout construction. The steel-framed facility was built on a concrete slab with Dryvit and solid phenolic high-pressure laminate panel exteriors and a low-sloped TPO roof.
The medical center serves Bellingham patients with outpatient surgical and clinical services in a modern, purpose-built facility, delivered without any adverse impact to the salmon habitat in adjacent Squalicum Creek. The project shows that healthcare construction and environmental stewardship can coexist when the builder takes both responsibilities seriously.
From emergency repairs to ground-up builds, Dawson teams deliver across Southeast Alaska and Northwest Washington.
