Dawson renovated two interconnected buildings, the Robertson Building and Hamilton Building, for the University of Alaska Southeast's expanded Maritime program in Ketchikan. The three-phase project transformed existing classrooms and workshops into specialized maritime training facilities, including navigation simulators, engine rooms, and hands-on lab spaces. Careful phasing allowed the university to maintain active classes throughout the multi-year renovation.

The University of Alaska Southeast now has purpose-built maritime training facilities in Ketchikan that rival those at larger institutions, with navigation simulators, engine room labs, and hands-on workshop spaces that prepare students for careers in Southeast Alaska's maritime industry. The renovation was completed without canceling a single semester of classes, occupied educational renovation done right because the contractor planned for it from day one. The expanded program strengthens Ketchikan's role as a maritime training hub for the region.
