Dawson constructed the four-story, 61,000 square foot Laurel Forest Senior Housing building in Bellingham with 56 one-bedroom apartments for older adults. Developed by the Opportunity Council, the project includes a 5,000 square foot early learning and childcare center on the ground level, a multigenerational design that brings seniors and young families together under one roof. The building meets Washington's affordable housing standards while delivering the quality and durability Dawson brings to every residential project.
Laurel Forest now provides 56 affordable homes for Bellingham's older adults alongside a childcare center that serves the surrounding community, a multigenerational model that enriches daily life for everyone in the building. The project shows that affordable housing doesn't have to mean cutting corners; it means building smarter. Quality construction and community mission go hand in hand in Whatcom County.
From emergency repairs to ground-up builds, Dawson teams deliver across Southeast Alaska and Northwest Washington.
