The Housing First Collaborative is a two-building facility providing housing and support services to adults in Juneau experiencing chronic homelessness. Dawson built the second phase of the project, new construction of a three-story, 14,500 SF expansion offering 32 units and ground-floor office space. The second phase roughly mirrors the first, partially enclosing the interior garden space and extending along the developed parking and street frontage. This isn't temporary shelter; it is a permanent address with on-site support, the kind of housing that actually changes outcomes for chronically homeless adults in Juneau.
Phase II doubled the Housing First Collaborative's capacity to 64 units, bringing 32 more chronically homeless adults off Juneau's streets and into permanent housing with on-site support. The enclosed garden courtyard between the two phases created a shared outdoor space that connects both buildings' residents, and the ground-floor offices ensure the wraparound services that make Housing First effective have the space they need. The community's investment in this model is working, and the expansion was built at the quality and speed the mission demands.
From emergency repairs to ground-up builds, Dawson teams deliver across Southeast Alaska and Northwest Washington.
