Dawson Construction completed a two-floor renovation of the SEARHC Ethel Lund Medical Center in Juneau, Alaska, modernizing the ground and main floors of this critical healthcare facility operated by the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC). The project was designed by NorthWind Architects, LLC and executed in two carefully planned phases to accommodate the clinic's ongoing operations with uninterrupted patient care throughout construction.
The renovation covered extensive upgrades to the facility's core patient-facing and operational areas. Work included modernization of the main lobby and reception area, renovation of the waiting area, and upgrades to the physical therapy room to support expanded rehabilitation services. The project also addressed the clinic's ICT areas and administrative offices, pharmacy, laboratory, phlebotomy station, and medical library, bringing these critical spaces up to current healthcare standards. Additional work included renovations to staff workrooms and upgrades to the mechanical mezzanine.
The phased construction approach required close coordination with SEARHC clinical staff to maintain patient access and safety throughout the project. SEARHC serves as the primary healthcare provider for communities throughout Southeast Alaska, making this facility essential to the region's medical infrastructure. Not a single patient appointment was missed during either phase, a working medical facility completely transformed without ever compromising the care happening inside it.
From emergency repairs to ground-up builds, Dawson teams deliver across Southeast Alaska and Northwest Washington.
