Bellis Fair Family Housing brings 65 affordable apartments to Bellingham, built by Dawson Construction for the Opportunity Council. The four-story building wraps around the Cedar Commons Family Learning Center, a five-classroom early learning facility, so that housing and childcare share a single site.
Dawson self-performed the civil scope, from fireline and utilities through site finishes. The wood-framed construction, funding-driven schedule, and inspection requirements that come with affordable housing are familiar ground for the project team. The finished building is certified compliant with the Washington State Department of Commerce's Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard.
