Martha and Mary Senior Housing

Hidden Project

The Martha and Mary Senior Housing complex is a 36,900 square foot, 4-story senior living facility with 35 units. The building has a fully insulated, heavy moisture barrier with added base rock and slab drains. The site is fully ADA accessible on a 15% property slope. Under the WA State Evergreen Sustainable Development Standards, the landscape plan required the use of native plants but also imported topsoil.

Dawson saw the opportunity to save costs by screening and stockpiling topsoil from the native material being taken out. This approach not only saved money, but was also more ecologically friendly and resulted in the native plants thriving in the native soil.
