The Ketchikan Aquatic Center, attached to the Gateway Recreation Center, is 35,000 square feet of fun. Construction of the new aquatic center included pre-cast concrete panel exterior walls with a steel roof structure, and the installation of the mechanical and electrical systems. The concrete panel walls and steel roof became the interior finishes as well. The center features an 8 lane competition pool with a diving area and 2 diving boards, and a second recreation pool with 2 water slides, recreational play features and a vortex pool.
Features also include a spectator area, locker rooms, office space, and a fitness room.
