Dawson completed the renovation and addition to the George H. Gilson Middle School, doubling the size and creating a more flexible, multi-use space. The updated 56,800 square foot school includes classrooms, a gymnasium, staff and administrative offices, a commercial kitchen, multi-purpose gathering room, and accessible restrooms. A thermal building envelope provides a more efficient heating system, saving 48,000 BTU/sf per year.
Dawson’s team accelerated the schedule which resulted in completion of the project 4 months ahead of schedule.
