Cordova, Alaska

Cordova Center

Commercial Project

This LEED certified building has become a premier meeting and conference venue for organizations across Alaska, since it opened in 2015. Dawson completed the interior build out of this new 34,000 square foot facility, which houses administrative offices for the City of Cordova, a museum, library, 205 seat auditorium/theater and community gathering spaces.

The finishes take advantage of the natural beauty of the coastal scenery while also integrating aspects of the city’s history.

The large expanse of windows open up to the beautiful Prince William Sound and Chugach Mountains. The use of natural colors and materials reflect the surrounding natural beauty, including copper, which hints to the city’s mining history.
